"Trouble is delicious! Trouble is fun. Teaching your players, or helping navigate your players through gradients of consequences a failed roll can bring is wonderful storytelling. It doesn't always have to mean tragedy. I've run games where fumbles and fails, turn into the real Gold of the game, to hilarious and wonderfully memorable results. Teaching players to embrace the trouble they get in also builds trust at the table, and that creates a bit more freedom for everyone to create and build a better story with the whole table.
It's also a wonderful tool to build tension for later conflict resolution and ultimately, sweeter player victory...or memorable defeat."
"It's all about the storytelling."
